    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

The main aim of this proposal is to achieve a breakthrough toward the exact calculation of correlation functions in the integrable chiral Potts model, which is the first model based on a solution of the Yang-Baxter equation parametrised in terms of a high genus curve. This mathematical complication has not been encountered before in other integrable models and overcoming it will lead to the understanding of new phenomena and new technology as detailed physical information is contained in the correlations. The proposal brings together the researchers who not only invented the model, but who also succeeded against all odds to evaluate its free energy and order parameter. Further progress may therefore be expected from this team.
