Description
EXT NHMRC 2024 Ideas Grant - 2037259 CIA Hedtke, LaTrobe -- To adapt parasite elimination strategies to specific regions, a fundamental understanding of why transmission persists in some countries despite MDA, why it re-occurs post-MDA, and whether infected travellers between countries impact transmission is needed. Our multidisciplinary team is driving breakthroughs in the study of nematode parasite transmission. Our innovative toolkit will elucidate country-specific LF transmission patterns and their impacts on optimizing treatment strategies. Our experienced team will translate these results into policy recommendations/guidelines for a rapid impact on disease prevention.
