Description
Planar Tellurite non-linear optical (NLO) waveguides have important and potentially immediate applications in the Defence, sensing, and telecommunications arenas. It is therefore remarkable that a NLO planar Tellurite waveguide has never been demonstrated. This project aims to develop & fabricate high quality optimised Tellurite films, process them into planar waveguides, and demonstrate their non-linearity. The unique future functionality enhancements offered by the Tellurite system once planar integration is accomplished also promise further opportunities.
