Official Order for the provision of the delivery of a public health assessment of electronic cigarette use specific to the Australian context

The Australian Minister for Health, the Hon Greg Hunt, requested that the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH) develop a proposal to undertake a public health assessment of e-cigarette use. NCEPH submitted the proposal on 19 Oct 2018.1 The Minister announced that $750,000 would be allocated over two years for this important work. In progressing this work, the Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Branch of the Australian Department of Health sought more detail on deliverables, timing and costing, to support the preparation of a formal contract.
