OzFuel study in support of GA Satellite Cross-Calibration Radiometer program

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The Australian National University Institute for Space (InSpace) is developing a concept for OzFuel, a shortwave infrared bushfire hazard monitoring satellite carefully calibrated to Australias unique bush landscape. OzFuel was identified as a design reference mission in the recent Technical Feasibility Study into Australian Development of a Satellite Cross-Calibration Radiometer (SCR) series by Geoscience Australia. OzFuel was also identified in the Australian Space Agencys Bushfire Earth Observation Taskforce Report for upcoming national disaster and resilience missions. We anticipate that OzFuels system architecture, sensor technologies and preliminary data collection will be critical in de-risking the SCRs full operational capability program.
