Project Details
Description
Technological breakthroughs are based on the materials with novel functionalities and at the forefront of the photonic industry and research is the medium with long range or nonlocal response. In this project we will employ the unique features of nematic liquid crystals with giant nonlocal nonlinearity. We aim to establish in Australia a research team developing innovative theoretical methods and experimental techniques for highly effective control and routing of optical signals facilitating the emergence of novel technologies. This collaborative project will strengthen the international standing of Australia in photonics and bring the world class expertise in the field currently pursued by leading research centres.
