Project Details
Description
The project is about developing new methods of control systems design with improved accuracy and robustness for applications in precision industries. The outcomes of the project will be new controller design tools which enable greater control system accuracy for precision engineering applications such as semiconductor manufacturing, robotics and micro-electromechanical systems. These control systems aim to yield highly accurate control while being robust to nonlinear effects and unmodelled dynamics. By using nonlinear and switching controllers along with new ideas about robustness, the project aims to produce more accurate and robust control systems than can be achieved using existing standard control scheme as as position-integral-derivative control. The research will enable Australian precision industries to achieve better precision in their products along with operating in a more robust way. The research might be used in designing more accurate control systems a
