Production of clinical-grade red blood cell extracellular vesicles (RBC-EV) to modulate neuroinflammation in thetreatment of retinal and neurodegenerative diseases

We have developed a platform technology to produce neuroprotective red blood cell-EV (RBC-EV) for thetreatment of retinal degenerations. We have completed safety and efficacy studies using preclinical models aswell as independent product validation (CruxBioLabs) (TRL4).This project will develop a manufacturing process to produce GLP/GMP-like RBC-EV at existing partnermanufacturing facility Cell Therapies (VIC) in association with LifeBlood Australia. The product will be used toconduct dose escalation, repeat dosing, and bio-distribution studies based on regulatory guidance obtained fromour regulatory consultant (Scendea UK). Outcome of this project will advance our product to TRL6; (validation inoperational environment).
