Quadratic fusion categories: a new frontier in subfactor theory

Research Associate Dr Christopher Raymond will undertake a variety of research activities in support of the project. His focus will be researching the relationship between conformal field theories (CFTs) and their tensor categories. Of particular interest will be "rational CFTs," for which the associated tensor category is a fusion category. Dr Raymonds work is expected to provide a deeper understanding of these fusion categories by bridging certain crucial technical gaps between our understanding of quantum fields and quantum observables in the context of CFT.
