Quality Assessment and Improving Reliability of High-Efficiency PV Modules

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

This project aims to improve the understanding of degradation mechanisms in high efficiency PV technologies, focusing on TOPCon, HJT and Back Contact (BC) panels. The project will investigate potential degradation and failure modes that may appear in real-world conditions but could bypass detection by current IEC standard tests. Using a comprehensive test environment from in-depth laboratory testing, individual panel outdoor monitoring and field-installed pilot scale tests this project will examine a large range of commercial panels, identify potential degradation modes and develop mitigation strategies.
