Quantifying Mortality Incorporating Multiple Causes of Death: Optimising Data for Policy and Practice

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Despite the availability of comprehensive data on multiple causes of death (MCoD), mortality statistics rely on a single underlying cause of death. This project will use National Cause of Death Unit Record Files containing all deaths registered in Australia from 2006-16, as well as a large cohort study, with linked health and mortality data, to generate new knowledge on MCoD in Australia, develop methods for reporting and analysis, assess the impact of use, and improve policy and practice.
