Quantum chaos and scattering theory

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Quantum chaos and scattering theory are two areas of mathematics (and physics) exhibiting classical-quantum correspondences, meaning that in the high-energy or large-distance limit, the behaviour of the quantum system (of evolving waves) is governed to some extent by the dynamics of a corresponding classical system (of evolving particles). In this project I will examine some deep connections between some specific quantum systems and the geometry, topology and dynamics of the underlying classical system.
