Refining the measurement and diagnostic criteria of pathological buying

The current project aims to develop an international standardised diagnosis-based measure ofpathological buying (PB). We plan to collect data on PB in clinical and non-clinical populations inboth Australia and Germany. Recently both research teams in Australian (Compulsive BuyingRating Scale, CBRS; Kyrios, 2002) and Germany (Pathological Buying Screener, PBS; Mller, etal, 2015) have independently developed two measures to assess PB to overcome limitations ofexisting self-report questionnaires.
