Ridge to reef management using ecosystem accounting

NSW marine and ocean resource managers delivering programs for the NSW Marine Estate Management Strategy (MEMS) have expressed strong interest in research which can explore an integrated catchment-based approach to ecosystem service valuation as part of a wider marine and coastal environmental-accounting program. Such research could provide considerable value for the MEMS program, particularly as a means for better understanding the potential positive and negative relationships between different ecosystem management programs in different NSW coastal catchments.
