Project Details
Description
The human visual system incorporates a number of pathways that are specialised for processing particular information, e.g. the form and motion pathways. Many objects move, so the ability to accurately perceive motion is of paramount importance to our ability to safely and efficiently interact with the world. In natural environments, objects are in motion, so form and motion signals are invariably linked. This project will conduct psychophysical studies to determine how these signals/pathways interact. The findings will advance our understanding of how the brain processes motion information and have implications for areas ranging from road safety to clinical neuropsychology.
