Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The proposed SRA is a scoping workshop to be held in Beijing on 11-12 September 2008. The purpose of the work is to determine whether Australian NRM experts can make a meaningful contribution to Chinese policy processes associated with desertification in western China. The Australian experts will: - provide presentations on relevant Australian laws, policy processes and institutional arrangements - respond to questioning from Chinese officials on various aspects of Australia's NRM systems - prepare a report to ACIAR on the outcomes of the workshop and whether they believe it is worth pursuing a larger collaborative project in this area.
