Securitised Real Estate and Private Dwellings: International and Domestic Linkages and Implications for the Macroeconomy

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

This project aims to undertake a thorough analysis of the role of the real estate market in Australia. In particular the project will investigate linkages of Australia s securitized real estate market with other securitized real estate markets, other asset markets such as equity markets and the market for private dwellings. Importantly, it will also investigate the linkages between Australia s housing market and the macroeconomy. The research will provide an insight into the relevance of securitized real estate markets as part of an internationally diversified portfolio, and will analyse the role of asset price inflation, particularly housing prices for monetary policy and output for Australia.
