Description
With this proposal, we aim to establish a state-of-the-art single photon detection facility in the infra-red spectral range. In contrast to other existing infra-red detection systems, this unique cryogenic facility will incorporate four superconducting single photon detectors with fast time response, low dark counts and high count rate. This will enable entirely new research opportunities for time-resolved emission of nano-scale systems, quantum cryptography and development of infra-red single-photon sources.
