    Project Details

    Description

This research will use a new method to develop detailed risk-clustering maps identifying where geographical hotspots of dementia and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk overlap across local neighbourhoods/communities in major urban centres. Building on this information, this research will provide visual tools to show how built environment (i.e. access to open green spaces, air pollution, and socio-economic status) and lifestyle factors (i.e. physical activity, fast food consumption) overlap with risk clusters. These maps will be of direct practical use to researchers and policymakers for targeting effective prevention interventions to communities at higher risk. The community will be invited to provide feedback about how best to disseminate findings and influence change at a consumer level.
