Project Details
Description
This ANU-Commonwealth Parliament project establishes a research community of parliamentary experts to develop new theories and applications about institutional capacity-building of democratic parliaments. Based on extensive investigation of the strengths and weaknesses of Australian parliamentary innovations over the last quarter century, the project will evaluate Australian parliamentary developments in an international context. The project is the priority task of the ANU's new Parliamentary Studies Centre which will host the project and support the Partners' research contributions through fellowships, workshops, conferences and publications, including a series of three edited volumes on Strengthening Parliamentary Institutions.
