Student project: Integrative taxonomic revision of the moth genus Symphyta (Lepidoptera: Lasiocampidae) (Siwanon Paphatmethin)

The student will revise a genus of moths using morphological and molecular methods. For this he will be based in the ANIC Lepidoptera collection, dissecting specimens to study their morphology. He will also work in the ANIC molecular laboratory to carry out collection genomic work. In addition, the student will carry out some fieldwork to collect fresh specimens for molecular work. The outcome will be a taxonomic revision with the description of new species and genera, published in a peerreviewed scientific journal.
