Tech4HSE: Workspace Safety and Management with AI-Based Monitoring

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

This project focuses on building an autonomous safety monitoring system, where we will use mining sites as a primary application scenario. Through extensive communications, stakeholders in the mining industry suggest two important applications. On the one hand, workers often neglect protective requirement, such as wearing helmets, protective goggles and masks. These pose safety hazards. On the other hand, harassment has increasingly become an issue for management and employee well-being. These activities happen during human-human interactions and require strong and efficient AI tools to detect the same. Moreover, we are advised that the system should be secure, efficient, and fair. That is, the system can protect the privacy of the workers ensuring the real-time processing.
