The Australian Centre for the Control and Elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases

The vision for the Australian Centre for the Control and Elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases (ACE-NTDs) is to accelerate the control and ultimately elimination of key NTDs in our region. We will focus on endemic NTDs for which the large-scale preventive chemotherapy approach has been designated internationally as a proven or promising component of control strategies. ACE-NTDs will be the first national collaboration in the control of these infections. The diseases that are the focus of our CRE affect millions of people at the lowest income levels. At least 9 NTDs amenable to PC remain endemic among the most disadvantaged people in countries of the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia.
