Project Details
Description
While new systems of evaluation for university research are being implemented in many countries, we still know little about the impact of these systems on the content of research. The project will fill this gap by comparing German university research that has not yet been affected by evaluation-based funding to Australian university research that has adapted to the funding formula. The comparison of responses at the levels of universities and individual researchers in six fields will demonstrate how funding conditions are perceived, what strategies are developed by universities to maximise funding, and how researchers do or do not adapt their research topics and methods to these conditions
