The Earth's Deep Carbon Cycle

This project will use high-pressure experiments and sophisticated micro-analysis to investigate the recycling of carbon from the Earth’s surface into the deep mantle. Outcomes will be important for understanding longterm evolution of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and many deep mantle processes such as genesis of magmas and how diamonds form.
