Description
In Australia and other western countries, shared-time parenting after divorce has been emerging as a new family form. The arrangement has largely reflected a desire of both parents to remain actively involved with their children. But following the emphasis of the 2006 family law reforms on 'shared parental responsibility', the number of highly conflicted parents entering into such arrangements has increased considerably. High parental conflict correlates with a range of negative outcomes for children, but little is known about the high-conflict shared-time family and especially about children's wellbeing in these families. The study's findings will be of benefit to policy makers, decision makers, mediators and parents themselves.
