Project Details
Description
This project aims to increase the cervical screening rate in Aboriginal women by providing a one stop service. Women will be able to participate in their own HPV cervical screening test through self-collection and watching a culturally appropriate education video on an iPad (i.e., what is high-risk HPV). If identified as having high-risk HPV, the women will immediately be offered a colposcopy (a procedure used to look at the cervix), and biopsy if required. This project will be delivered by existing medical outreach services that are well accepted in some of the most remote Aboriginal communities in Western Australia.
