Description
Wealth is an important source of economic well being. This project assesses the relative wealth position of native- and foreign-born Australian families focusing on the following: How does wealth vary by nativity, region of origin, and immigration cohort? How important are factors such as income differentials, household composition, etc. and differences in the propensity to accumulate wealth in producing these wealth gaps? Do portfolio choices differ by immigrant status? This project is central to a number of pressing social policy issues and forms part of an international program to assess the way in which race, ethnicity and immigrant status affect wealth.
