Thermal Energy Storage modelling project - system model establishment

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

The project aims to stand up initial models of three different thermal energy storage systems, with charging via electrical heaters, and discharging as process steam. The models will be refined based on earlier ANU models, in order to accommodate Rio Tintos upstream electricity network modelling and constraints, downstream steam requirements, and the physics of two packed-bed TES technologies and one two-tank molten salt TES technology.
