Project Details
Description
The continual reduction of the LCOE of traditional silicon PV modules is impeded by their weight and associated installation cost limitations. This project aims to develop alternative silicon module designs that are lightweight and can enable low-cost deployment. These developments will be achieved through cross-nodal activity on module development and deployment, characterisation, optical and mechanical modelling, durability testing and techno-economic analysis. Through these activities, we aim to develop a novel lightweight PV module architecture that exhibits LCOE reductions of >20% compared to current state-of-the-art PV modules.
