    Project Details

    Description

This research aims to establish a digital, population-level model of care that makes evidence-based interventions for mental health accessible to all Australianchildren and adolescents. The project focuses on the most prevalent mental health difficulties in young people, anxiety and depression, along with substanceuse, unhealthy lifestyle behaviours and suicide, which are commonly comorbid in this population. Devastatingly, only half of young people with mentaldisorders report having used any services, with only 3.3% accessing specialist child and adolescent care. Face-to-face services are simply unable to supportdemand at the population level. The pervasiveness of problems and the noted barriers to treatment highlight the value of digital and population-level approaches in increasing access to evidence-based interventions.
