Description
There is an urgent need to respond more effectively to childhood poverty. Focusing on Indonesia, this project seeks to deepen understanding of childhood poverty, making theoretical, methodological and policy contributions. The project aims to: (1) extend theories of multidimensional poverty to children, reflecting their experience and priorities; (2) analyse similarities and differences between child- and adult-centred conceptualisations of childhood poverty; (3) develop a child-centred methodology for assessing chidhood poverty that is replicable across contexts. In achieving these aims the project will produce policy-relevant findings that move beyond adult-centric definitions and contribute to more effective responses to child poverty.
