Description
Regional stability in Asia is challenged by Burma's ongoing civil war and attendant economic and health crises. Burma is a conflict economy with an enforced scarcity of basic necessities such as medicine and healthcare. Refugees flow into neighboring countries, destabilising borders and regional economies and polities. This project aims to discover the interrelated factors linking a lack of the right to health with stability and human security in the Asian region. The results of the research will allow international and aid policies to reflect novel approaches to sustainable peacebuilding initiatives that span national borders and can be delivered by Australia and its regional partners.
