Understanding natural and vaccine-induced immunity to malaria

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Malaria is responsible for the deaths of >400,000 individuals per year. Eradication of malaria will require a safe and effective vaccine. Vaccine development requires an understanding of the immune responses to malaria parasites and vaccines. The work here aims to understand the necessary components for a successful vaccine and to understand why our immune system struggles to make effective responses to malaria.
