    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Campylobacter is a key cause of foodborne disease in Australia, with rates of infection amongst the highest in the world. This collaborative project between researchers, government, and industry seeks to harness advances in genomics, epidemiology, and mathematical modelling to identify risks and sources of Campylobacter in Australia. We aim to produce actionable findings on Campylobacter infection through the use of Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) that will prioritise industry, government and individual foci for intervention to reduce disease. Our project will generate practical recommendations for the use of WGS in public health surveillance through continual engagement with partner organisations.
