Project Details
Description
Wheat is a major crop in Australia, with 28 million tonnes sold for $9 billion during the 2023-2024 season1. A majorrisk to the industry is fungal disease, and in moderate-to-high rainfall areas, Septoria tritici blotch (Stb) can reduce cropyields up to 50 % in growing regions of Australia2. Stb is caused by the necrotrophic pathogen Zymoseptoria tritici, thethird most significant causative agent of wheat disease globally2.
