Utilising solar-thermal energy for carbon sequestration

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

This project aims to develop a sustainable technology that captures CO2 from air on campus and stores it in the form of carbonates. A solar-driven cascaded thermodiffusive separator will be designed and manufactured to increase the concentration of CO2 in air. Commercially available minerals in Australia will be investigated for carbon sequestration using a solar-thermal approach. The project outcome is a clear pathway towards upgrading existing on-campus infrastructure for large-scale carbon sequestration.
