Valuation of cryptographic assets; a pathway to developing a new consensus mechanism for a green blockchain

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Distributed ledger technology challenges existing systems by offering more efficient and secure shared records systems. Ledgers are fueled by cryptoassets and there is still no accepted framework for computing their fair values. This has exposed market participants to risk. The environmental cost of token generation is substantial. This pilot project will investigate a new framework for valuing Utility Tokens using swaps. In so doing, it will develop a probabilistic analysis of consensus mechanisms that can be used to solve the issues of energy efficient consensus protocols.
