    Project Details

    Description

This project aims to: comprehensively characterize sequence and haplotype variation at the human arginine vasopressin 1a gene; investigate the effects of AVPR1a variation on gene expression in blood and brain, and determine whether AVPR1a variation has an effect on health and wellbeing through interaction with the social environment in two well-characterised longitudinal cohorts. The project's most significant potential outcomes are its contribution to understanding the biological basis of variation in human social and reproductive behaviour and to understanding the importance of individual differences in the development of policy and interventions to improve health and wellbeing in response to social change
