Project Details
Description
We aim to manufacture (prototype), distribute (end-user testing), and further develop/explore a wide range of multifunctional thin dielectric membranes on Si frames for a variety of applications including solid-state nanopores, as well as X-ray- and TEM windows. The key tasks of this project are to: Internally manufacture membranes from a variety of materials with application specific sizes and shapes, including custom design to end-user requirements Perform research into fabricating membranes of new materials that are currently not commercially available but offer alternative performance parameters Carry out application-specific performance (and benchmarking) tests such as single nanopore fabrication, vacuum stability and X-ray transmission Undertake third-party validation by engaging end-users and acquiring feedback on the manufactured membranes
