Description
This project aims to research and develop research level code and algorithms to support improved ambulatory mobility for bionic vision patients. It makes the assumption that further work would be required to integrate code into BVT externals, this is therefore out of scope for this initial work. It is also assumed that the resources are available within BVT to perform simulation testing, and is not the responsibility of the ANU.The project will take into account work by BVT and ANU in identifying shortcomings of the current algorithm, these include user studies and clinical opinion from BVT partners. This will be used to better target proposed algorithms. The general approach of the project will be to investigate the feasibility of a number of approaches in the first three months, then focus on one or more approaches to develop an improved algorithm or algorithms
