Project Details
Description
A wind monitoring network for a variety of fundamental and applied studies of winds and turbulence in the planetary boundary layer will be developed. The network will consist of five wind profilers positioned to continuously monitor winds over terrain and over the sea, at mid latitudes and in the tropics. The network will be used by scientists interested in the physics of atmospheric flows and turbulence, as well as by groups working in geophysics, meteorology, wind energy research, weather and climate science, aviation and environmental engineering.
