Abstract
For over two decades, since the overthrow of the Soeharto regime in 1998, Indonesia has institutionalized democracy and maintained positive economic growth. It attracted international attention as it overcame political turmoil and transitioned into democracy in 1998. With a gross national income per capita of US$4,050 in 2009 (US@12,000 in terms of purchasing power parity), Indonesia is currently classified as an upper-middle-income country (World Bank 2020)
