A high density metastable helium MOT for electron-atom collision studies

    Abstract

    We combine a high density metastable helium MOT and state-of-the-art electron scattering techniques to determine absolute total electron scattering cross sections. The first high energy measurements (>10 eV) provide a stringent test of theoretical predictions.
