Abstract
Oliva’s trilogy, as well as some of her previous and subsequent writing embodies such daring and variety particularly in form and content: social political engagement with La Guerrera’s material concern with unemployment, which is representative of the global precariousness of the present generation of young adults; cross-cultural sensitivity, with the author’s anthropological excursions into myths and music; and psychological veracity, with the implicit exploration of the effects of childhood trauma, evolution and transformation. However, the author always maintains a steady focus to what is a sustainable, material, equilibrium, as opposed to utopia and idealism.
