Abstract

- Those working in internet-related industries, and their legal representatives, need to be aware of the application of both terrorism and cybercrime laws to the internet. - Cybercrime offences in the Commonwealth Criminal Code may extend to using the internet for terrorism-related activity, and the definition of terrorist act in the code specifically includes threats to communications systems. - The law imposes obligations on internet service providers to help prevent criminal misuse of telecommunications, and to assist in the execution of search and other warrants.
