Abstract

The reactions of two alkylidynemolybdenum complexes with carbon disulfide have been investigated and found to provide an unusual and structurally characterized metallacyclic thioketene complex [Mo-{eta(2)-kappa(C,S),sigma-kappa(S')-S=C=CRC(=O)S}(=O){HB-(pz)(3)}], leading to a reinterpretation of previous alkylidyne/CS2 coupling processes.
