Abstract
A comparison of results from three different ion storage rings has yielded consolidated experimental information on the absolute DR cross section and on the thermal DR rate coefficient of HD+(v=0) ions, suitable for a detailed comparison with theoretical predictions. Satisfactory agreement between the individual experiments and with the calculations is obtained for electron energies above ∼0.01 eV. At lower energies, the influence of rotational excitations presents an interesting area of further investigations.
