Abstract
Mixed media and landscaping. Memorial commissioned by artsACT, ACT Government. The work represents a journey from the day of the fire, through the process of recovery, to the honouring of memory. The memorial incorporates bricks salvaged from destroyed homes, sculptural metal forms that refer to lightening strikes and the force of the firestorm, an amphitheatre enclosing a pond and bubbling spring, and a series of glass columns encasing documentary photographic images.
