    Abstract

This report presents the findings of a mixed methods process and outcome evaluation of the ACT Drug and Alcohol Sentencing List (DASL), conducted by the Australian National University (ANU). It represents a synthesis of the three elements of the overall evaluation, conducted in stages between 2019 and 2022: 1. a review of internationally-recognised best practice principles and procedures for the creation and implementation of a successful drug court, submitted to the court in 2019;1 2. a process evaluation of the fidelity to best practice standards during the implementation of the ACT DASL, submitted to the ACT Supreme Court in April 2021, with updates in April 2022; and 3. an outcome evaluation, with initial outcomes explored in the 2021 process evaluation report and a full outcome evaluation report submitted to the Court in April 2022.
